HES is based in
Letchworth Garden
City, Hertfordshire, England and specialises in the design and manufacture
of special purpose machines. We produce bespoke equipment to meet the needs of organisations in many
diverse sectors of industry. HES has a track record in producing high - quality
machine systems for production processes including: Auto-assembly,
Tube Labelling, Testing/Inspection, Packaging and Bagging, Material Processing,
Mechanical Handling, Labelling and System Integration. Both fully-automatic and semi-automatic
machines can be manufactured from multi-station assembly machines to simple one
operator test rigs.
Since 1993
HES has designed and manufactured a very wide range of machines and systems. It

Design
The fundamental basis of our machines is good design practice. Tried and tested design solutions are employed where possible and HES has considerable experience in machine design to call upon.
Where established methods are not applicable, conceptual design techniques such as value analysis and brainstorming are employed where appropriate, to generate novel solutions to challenging design requirements. Untried or critical design solutions are prototyped and tested in our workshops to assess their functionality. Risk assessments and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) are carried out on an ongoing basis during the machine development.
All machines are fully guarded, CE marked and provided with the required documentation to conform with The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992.
Control Systems
Control
systems using a programmable logic controller (plc) or a PC can be specified, built in and
programmed, interfaced to sensors, customers control systems, machine tools,
data loggers, etc. We can supply machines incorporating plc's from most
major suppliers including Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley and Siemens.
Existing machines can be upgraded to replace obsolete components with the latest
technology to improve throughput or reliability.
Documentation
Machines are designed and detailed using in-house CAD facilities. Manuals, reports and design documentation can be provided as part of a current project or on a separate basis.
Manufacture & Installation
Machines are manufactured and assembled at our own facilities, and thoroughly tested prior to installation and commissioning at our clients' premises.
Customer Support
On site support for machinery, modifications, and commissioning is provided. Client companies can rely on a rapid response to requests for on site back-up.
